PROFILE OF LADY IBIERE NORA NNANNA UWA (CLN)
Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa was born on 24th April, 1971 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Her educational career which began in Port Harcourt Primary School in 1978 took her to various educational institutions across four geopolitical zones of Nigeria and beyond. These include, Federal Government Girl’s College, Bauchi (North East); Abia State University, Uturu (South East); FCT College of Education, Zuba (North Central); University of Calabar (South South); and Cambridge Institute of Education, London.
Lady Uwa holds many academic qualifications, among which are Bachelor of Science degree in Library and Information Science; Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration; Certificate in College Accreditation; and Masters Degree in Library and Information Science.
Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa’s work career began in 1998 when she was posted to Ebonyi State Library Board, her National Youth Service Corps place of primary assignment. Her excellent service and dedication to duty broke the barriers of “state of origin” and earned her immediate employment in Ebonyi State Secondary Education Board as Librarian in 1999. By dint of hard work, she rose through the ranks to the enviable cadre of Principal Administrative Officer in 2008.
In the same year, Lady Uwa was employed as Senior Librarian by the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Abuja. Lady Uwa, a certified librarian, has risen to the rank of Deputy Director (Library). Lady Uwa is rounding off her Ph.D programme in Library and Information Science. She has to her credit several academic journal publications (local and international) and has co-authored a book on Information Science. Lady Uwa has attended numerous workshops, conferences and seminars both within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa showcased her leadership qualities when she served a two term tenure as Chapter Chairperson of the Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) NCCE Chapter and as immediate past Financial Secretary of the Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) North Central Zone. She has led teams in several accreditation exercises to NCE awarding institutions all over Nigeria.
Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa is not just a book worm, unionist and career woman. She is a philanthropist and has provided financial support to indigent students at various levels of academic pursuit. A core nationalist, Lady Uwa is happily married to Chief Paul Nnanna Uwa of Ebonyi State. Lady Uwa’s successful marriage to an indigene of the state where she served her country exemplifies the positive roles of the NYSC programme in National Integration.
Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa is a loving wife and a quintessential mother. Together with her dear husband, they are breaking the boundaries of positive parenting by raising their children into responsible members of the society.
Lady Uwa is the representative of the National Commission For Colleges of Education in the Governing Council of Delta State College of Education, Warri.
For all these and more, Lady Ibiere Nora Nnanna Uwa (CLN), has been appointed as the Acting College Librarian, Federal College of Education Iwo, Osun State.
