Federal College of Education (FCE) Iwo Reaffirms Continuous Alliance with Traditional Leadership of Iwoland

The Federal College of Education (FCE), Iwo, has reiterated its commitment to fostering strategic collaboration and alliance with the traditional institution of Iwo land as part of broader efforts to accelerate institutional development, academic distinction and progress of the community. This was communicated during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Oluwo of Iwo land, HIM Oba Dr. Adewale Abdulroshid Akanbi (TELU 1) on Tuesday, 1st July 2025, where the College Management alongside members of the Governing Council officially introduced the new Chairman of the College’s Governing Council, Dr. Adeniyi Olatunde Adenuga to the monarch.
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Adeniyi Olatunde Adenuga in his speech commended the Oluwo for his consistent support, encouragement, and active engagement with the institution. Dr. Adenuga highlighted the monarch’s influence in mobilizing goodwill and stakeholder support, which has contributed immensely to the growth trajectory of the College. Furthermore, Dr. A. O. Adenuga also made a passionate appeal for continued support from the Iwo community, notable indigenes, and members of the diaspora in critical areas such as infrastructure development, scholarship provision, and academic-industry partnerships.
The Provost, Prof. R. I. Adebayo used the occasion to express deep appreciation for the support of the king, HIM Oba Dr. Adewale Abdulroshid Akanbi (TELU 1) in advocacy, public goodwill, and community mobilization. The Provost described these efforts as instrumental in laying a strong foundation for sustainable development of the College.
The visit reinforced a shared vision to transform FCE Iwo into one of Nigeria’s top-tier teachers-training institutions, anchored on inclusive community involvement, sustained collaboration, and commitment to educational excellence.
